Roots Revival: Saving Language and Culture through Ecological Stewardship and Spirituality (ALAC)

In committing to Laudato Si it is invaluable for the Ateneo de Manila University to remember our diverse cultural narratives by grounding ourselves in its linguistic roots. Language and culture play a key role in shaping the people’s perspectives in thought, in deed, and in spirit. They reflect our intrinsic connection to the natural world. A strengthened cultural identity fosters multilingual and intellectual channels for diverse communities to come together and create avenues for discussions and solutions to multifaceted ecological crises. A collaboration between Ateneo Lingua Ars Cultura [ALAC] and the Modern Languages Department would also help foster an environment that is open to diverse perspectives —culturally and linguistically—, in discourse and dialogue. Organized by Ateneo Lingua Ars Cultura and Modern Languages Department
