Community Solidarity: The Roots of Resilience (CCARPH)

This TALAB activity is based on Dr. Porio's fieldwork and site validation of the Itbayat LGU submission of their project, Yaru: A Whole-of-Community Approach Towards Disaster Management that she did in September 2022 for Galing Pook Awards for Excellence in Local Governance (cf. Galing Pook Program 2022). She argues that that the culture of resilience among Itbayatens is embedded in their lifeways, institutional structures and practices before, during and after any potentially hazardous events (typhoons, covid-19 pandemic, etc.).
